Adventure guides work in companies whose focus is creating, implementing and promoting adventure tourism products. This consists of planning nature outings, coordinating and facilitating these activities, guiding groups, teaching techniques related to the practice of activities, acting as a nature guide and promoting activities.
Adventure guides work mainly with equipment used for outdoor sports and activities, safety, communications and the interpretation of natural and cultural heritage. They also use computers, peripheral devices, software and databases.
In performing their duties, adventure guides may work with other guides, customers, travel agencies, tour operators, adventure tourism operators and various other people in the industry.
