These technologists are responsible for installing and starting-up telecommunications systems as well as ensuring technical maintenance, repairing, modifying or upgrading these systems. They also provide technical assistance and ensure quality control when assembling and disassembling material, equipment and systems (including calibration). Lastly, they are called upon to provide systems design support. Telecommunications technologists work on the material, equipment and systems that carry signals (regardless of the means of transmission used) for operations related to network access, communications, and telecommunications signal transmission.
