This program trains individuals to become printing technicians.
These technicians work using various printing processes: duplicator, multicolour offset printing machine and multicolor flexographic printer press. They perform tasks related to industrial print production, including: performing production set-up; ensuring quality of plates, paper, ink and chemicals; optimizing production; guillotining and binding. Printing technicians can work as forepersons or production managers.
Information technologies are an integral part of a printing technician’s job. They must configure remote control systems, process information, interpret data and adjust printing parameters.
Printing technicians can work alone or as part of a team under the supervision of senior technicians. They must constantly interact with customers as well as with employees from the customer service or graphic design department.
