Let's go!Usually two years long, pre-university programs are designed to allow you to integrate into undergraduate university studies.
Take care when selecting your pre-university program; you should choose one according to the kind of studies you plan to do in university. This is because pre-university programs at cégep are specialised and thus don’t allow access to all university programs. If you decide to change fields partway through your studies, you may find that you are missing certain university prerequisites.
Admission to some limited enrolment university programs is competitive. Universities evaluate candidates’ applications according to several selection criteria, including the cote de rendement au collégial, known in English as the R Score. The R Score ranks students according to their academic performance. For more information on admissions criteria for limited enrolment programs, visit the website of the Quebec university you are interested in attending.
The diploma granted upon successful completion of a pre-university program is the Diploma of College Studies (DSC), also known by its French name Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC).
