In addition to leading to a Diploma of College Studies (DEC), these two-year programs prepare candidates for the International Baccalaureate exams. These particular programs provide enriched training in an area of specialization while giving students the opportunity to explore other fields of knowledge. All of the programs include at least two languages, mathematics, science, social science and the theory of knowledge. Other subjects are individually selected by each Cégep based on the programs they offer. For more information on the specifics of individual programs, consult the documentation offered by the Cégep in question.
Certain universities use the CRC BI score for admission to most of their programs while others raise the Cote de rendement au collégial (cote R or R score) for students who have completed these programs. Additional information on BI prerequisites for university programs and the CRC BI score are available on the Société des établissements du Baccalauréat international du Québec’s Web site at www.sebiq.ca.
