Depending on your home country, different options are available:
Students coming from the following countries can benefit from free coverage by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ)2 if they are enrolled in their country’s social security.
Please note that: dental fees, eye exams, glasses and medication are not covered.
In order to enrol in Quebec’s Health Insurance Plan you must procure the following original documents before your departure for Quebec:

You must provide your cégep with proof of your enrolment in RAMQ in order to be exempt from enrolment in the group health and hospitalization insurance plan for international students.
If your country is not on the list above, you must enrol in your cégep’s group health and hospitalization insurance plan for international students.
Cégeps will not accept any foreign insurance. The annual fee for enrolment in the group health and hospitalization insurance plan for international students (for the period from August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022) is $730.
